The Apprenticeship in Shared Living
Through this program we place volunteers in Haitian communities for one to two years to live in simple solidarity with the poor, learning from them, and sharing life with them. Often we who are born to privilege attempt to help the poor from our position of power and safety, and even with a sense of moral superiority. In following a model of ministry and service that lays aside power and privilege, we seek to follow the One who served most powerfully by giving up power.
