Acting as essential guiding lights, Beyond Borders’ staff, partners, and movement leaders are accompanying their communities on the path to freedom—a path that leads beyond simply surviving to thriving. They are leading their communities to transform the power imbalances at the root of violence, and they are walking alongside families through urgent hunger and housing crises.

For a child trapped in servitude, a woman in a violent relationship, or a family who often goes without food, that guiding light isn’t a metaphor—it is a literal lifeline.

This work is fueled by the Haitian community members who have become trusted local leaders—stepping into the unlit corners of their communities like guiding lights, reaching those who are isolated and helping them find their way toward stability, dignity, and the chance to rebuild their lives.
