Today we celebrate a new year and join with our Haitian sisters and brothers to mark Haiti’s Independence Day.

On January 1, 1804, Haiti became the first and only nation to be born from a successful slave uprising.It is a sacred privilege for us to accompany Haitians as they continue the struggle to fully realize the blessings of liberty first celebrated on this day 216 years ago.

The generosity and solidarity of so many supporters throughout the year makes our accompaniment possible.

Thanks to this support, we are poised to greatly expand our work and the struggle for freedom for Haiti’s most vulnerable children in 2020.

As you celebrate the new year with family and friends, please know that all of us at Beyond Borders are grateful for your care and concern for the cause of freedom in Haiti.
