Haiti TPS Update In November 2025, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that it would end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti, effective February 3, 2026. Federal courts temporarily blocked that decision while legal challenges moved forward. Supreme Court Ruling On June 25, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Department of Homeland Security may move forward with ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti. The decision lifted the court orders that had kept TPS in place while the case was being litigated. As a result, hundreds of thousands of Haitian TPS holders now face losing their protection from deportation and their authorization to work in the United States. What you can do Call your Senators at (202) 224-3121 and ask them to co-sponsor and support S. 4814, legislation that would provide Temporary Protected Status for Haitian nationals. You may wish to emphasize the impact on your community, including the loss of experienced healthcare workers and the consequences for patient care and staffing.
